ST. LUCIA. Visited in August 2019
I was lucky enough to be taken to St. Lucia in the Caribbean, for a fortnight in August 2019.
This time of year is their rainy season, but it is still very hot......an average of about 30 degrees C.
Even when there was a rain shower, my grandaughters loved it in the swimming pool!

MAMIKU GARDENS.
These gardens were a short walk from the villa we stayed at in the first week.
It was a Saturday morning and the car park was full of cars, but they did not belong to garden visitors, but wedding guests, who had been waiting for 2 hours for the Bride and Groom to arrive.
Apparently, this is quite normal in St. Lucia, to be kept waiting!

BALENBOUCHE ESTATE
We visited this Balenbouche Estate which had a very old house with old antique items, and large garden grounds, which are kept in beautiful condition.
THE FIRST VILLA AT MON REPOS
A very nice spacious top floor of a villa, with 5 bedrooms. Only problem was sleeping, as there was no air conditioning, just ceiling fans which did not do a lot, but beds had mosquito nets.
A nice swimming pool and quite lovely gardens.

THE VILLAGE of MICOUD
We took a bus then walked to Micoud village. We got off one stop too early, but it turned out ok, as we walked by a lot of the village not normally seen by tourists. Houses were a mixture of "shack" type and the more modern "posh" ones.
THE SULPHUR SPRINGS.
DAY TRIP TO VARIOUS PLACES
We took a taxi trip to see a few different places.
As the island is not very large, it wasn't too far between places.

VIEUX FORTE CARNIVAL AND WALKS
A collecton of photos taken on a Praslin walk, Mon Repos area walking and Vieux Forte carnival.
