Honfleur is an interesting little fishing port in Normandy in Northern France, which I visited in October 2011.
Honfleur nestles in a valley between the Seine estuary and the plateau of the Pays d'Auge.
There is a nice yacht harbour and the streets are picturesque with traditional buildings, museums, art galleries, boutiques, craft shops, churches and monuments.
The church of Sainte-Catherine was built by shipwrights, and is the largest WOODEN church with a separate bell tower in France. The bell tower, also largely built of wood, dates from the end of the 15th century.
Being quite late in the year, the weather was not that brilliant, so photos are not as good as I'd have liked them to be.
