Deidre talks to Steve, telling him what a good dad he is....... as she does not really want Tracey to have this abortion, although she does not tell Steve this.
After a little thinking, Steve goes to the clinic, hoping to be in time to stop the abortion, but when he gets there, Tracey has left.
He was supposed to have been meeting up with Becky at the same time, for mediation over their divorce, and she was not pleased when he did not turn up.
He told her that something had come up.
Steve later finds out that Tracey has not gone through with the abortion. He tells her not to tell Becky that she is pregnant, as he would rather tell her himself.
Tracey hints that she will not be able to stay at Ken and Deidre's, so he tells her that he will support her if she finds a place to live.
Tracey starts looking for places that are expensive and miles from Coronation Street. He doesn't want them to be so far away, so, as the flat above the cab office is now vacant, he says she can have that.
Meanwhile, Becky is also looking for somewhere to live, and Lloyd offers the same flat to her.
While Steve is showing Tracey round the flat,.....which she is turning her nose up at.....Lloyd arrives with Becky.
As there is competition, Becky says that she will take the flat, but then Tracey changes her tune and says she wants the flat too.
So both girls tell Steve that he must decide who should live in the flat.
He decides that Tracey can have the flat......much to Becky's annoyance.
Later, he sees Becky and tells her he'd really pick her to live at the flat, which makes her feel that maybe they could get back together again. But then he tells her that Tracey is pregnant, and she is really upset.
So Becky goes back to the flat and tells Tracey to get out, as she is still Steve's wife, therefore still owning half of everything, so she has a right to throw her out.
Tracey leaves and Becky moves in and will not let Steve in.
Becky shouts that this is the end for them, and she will bleed him dry.
